Henrique Jales Ribeiro

Henrique Jales Ribeiro is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (Portugal), where he is a researcher and teaches logic and argumentation theory. He is the author of 13 books and over one hundred articles covering the different fields of philosophical research. His main publications in Portuguese include (transl.) Rhetoric, Argumentation, and Philosophy (2016), and (transl.) Argumentation, Critical Thinking, and Philosophy (2019). In English, in addition to being the author of dozens of articles published by specialized journals, he has edited two books: Inside Arguments (2012) and Systematic Approaches to Argument by Analogy (2014), and a special issue of a journal dedicated to Aristotle and contemporary argumentation theory (2013). His current interests, as attested by the present book, concern the role that philosophy is supposed to play in argumentation theory, as an interdisciplinary domain, and the place that this theory will have in the scope of human knowledge in general.
